We have been taking every precaution to slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Last Wednesday, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced a stay at home order which directs Minnesotans to limit movements outside of their homes beyond essential needs. By limiting social interactions, we decrease the chance of transmission of COVID-19 and help our health care sector prepare for increased demands.

Following the recommendations from the State of Minnesota around social distancing, and with an abundance of caution and concern for our entire community, we will be cancelling all activities through Sunday, April 12, 2020. Members that have paid for activities during this time will have those fees refunded via a credit to their account.

These changes are precautionary and are not due to any known exposure to COVID-19 in our building. The health, safety, and well-being of our community remain our No. 1 priority.  We will reevaluate the situation on Monday, April 13, 2020, and advise everyone with any future changes.

Make sure you are counted in the Census!

The 2020 Census has started and participation is very important for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

The census seeks to count every individual living in the United States, but many people with disabilities are historically left out of the count. Lack of representation in the census can harmfully impact funding, services, representation, and other resources for a community. You can respond to the census over the phone, online, or by mailing your questionnaire to the United States Census Bureau. Visit My2020Census.gov and press the blue button that says “Start Questionnaire” to complete the census online today! You must complete the census within one sitting.

Filling out the census online is the quickest and most straightforward way to complete the census. If you have your 12 digit ID (which was sent to your household by mail in mid-March), enter this prior to completing the census .

If you do not have a Census ID, click the link that says “if you do not have a census ID, click here.”

If you wish to complete the census by phone, call the toll free number 844-330-2020. If you need support for a Telephone Display Device, use the number 844-647-2020, which is also a toll free number.

If you have questions or need assistance filling out the census, email info@lifemowercounty.org.
