The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reported Thursday that four new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Mower County.
The increase, which brings the total number of cases reported in Mower County since last week to 10, came as 59 new cases were reported statewide on Thursday, bringing the current total in Minnesota to 346. Hennepin County has the highest number of cases at 128.
According to Mower County Emergency Manager Amy Lammey, the Mower County cases range from individuals in their late teens to late 50s. Of the 10, three have fully recovered while one requires hospital care.
The MDH is investigating the new cases, Lammey said.
MDH also reported that a second Minnesotan has died from COVID-19 and that 31 infected individuals were hospitalized as of Thursday. As with the first reported death, the second individual was also a Ramsey County resident in their 80s.
