Two killed, two injured in Thursday morning I-90 crash; Injuries also reported in pair of Racine Township accidents

Two people were killed and two more suffered non-life threatening injuries after their vehicle rolled over the Interstate 90 median Thursday morning.
According to Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Troy Christianson, a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 was headed westbound on Interstate 90 at about 7:06 a.m. on Thursday when the driver lost control and entered the median near milepost 201 in Pleasant Valley Township. The vehicle rolled and came to rest in the eastbound lanes.
Two individuals, Antonio Padillaibarra, 45 of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Eduardo Padilla, 18 of Tulsa, Oklahoma, were ejected from the vehicle and killed. Two other individuals, Jose Ivan Lagunasrojas, 39 of Colombia, Missouri and Jordan Adelaido Ochoafernandez, 18 of Colombia, Missouri, were transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester with non-life threatening injuries.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Office and Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
Christianson said Padillaibarra and Padilla were not wearing seatbelts at the time.
Other crashes
Two individuals were transported to the hospital after a pair of Interstate 90 accidents that occurred Wednesday evening and Thursday morning in Racine Township.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol accident report, the first accident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday at milepost 204 on westbound Interstate 90. A 2008 Ford Crown Vic and a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada were heading west when they both went into a ditch.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Stewartville Fire Department, Grand Meadow Fire Department and Ambulance and Mayo Clinic Ambulance Service all responded to the scene.
The Ford’s driver, Christina Norine La Lone, 38, of Rochester was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester with non-life threatening injuries. The Oldsmobile’s driver and passengers were uninjured.
According to another Minnesota State Patrol accident report, the second accident occurred at about 8:09 a.m. on Thursday at milepost 204 on eastbound Interstate 90. A 2004 Chevrolet Malibu was heading west when it entered the median and rolled.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Officer and Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
The driver, John Sanford Odell, 72, and passenger, Linda Sue Odell, 66, both of Jefferson, Iowa, suffered non-life threatening injuries; however, only Linda was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester.
The reports indicate the roads were covered with snow and ice when the accidents occurred.
