The Minnesota Presidential Nomination Primary (PNP) is Tuesday, March 3, marking the first time in decades the state is participating in “Super Tuesday.”

According to Mower County Auditor-Treasurer Scott Felten, the Mower County Auditor-Treasurer’s office will be open additional hours for voters to either vote by absentee or submit their mail ballot.

The office will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, and until 5 p.m. on Monday, March 2.

The office will be open additional hours for mail balloting from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, until 5 p.m. on Monday, and from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3.

Felten said that those considering mailing their ballots to the Mower County Auditor-Treasurer’s office should note that absentee ballots must be received in the office by 5 p.m. on Monday, while mail ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Ballots received in the mail after these dates will not be accepted and will not be included in vote totals; therefore, voters are encouraged to bring in their own ballot in person.

Unlike other elections, there is a separate ballot for each major political party participating in the PNP. Each voter is required to specify which party’s ballot they want when voting.

Voters who have questions on the PNP can contact the Mower County Auditor-Treasurer’s office by calling 507-437-9535, by email at elections@co.mower.mn.us, or by stopping at the office in the Mower County Government Center located at 201 First Street NE in Austin.
