Keith P. Crape, 27, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away suddenly on Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, due to a car accident.

Keith P. Crape, 27

Keith Prescott Crape was born on March 1, 1992, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of U.S. Navy parents, John Crape and Michelle (Brohmer) Crape, now Karnes. In 1993, his parents were honorably discharged from the Navy and the family moved back to the Midwest to be with family, with his father living in Wisconsin and mother in Minnesota. In 2010, Keith graduated from Austin High School. He worked for Daikin in Owatonna, Minnesota. He was a member of the Health Club at Total Fitness Gym in Austin. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, working out, and gathering together for cookouts. He loved “Dragon Ball Z” and playing Magic. He enjoyed filling his free time with those he loved most, including family, friends who were like family, and Katie and her girls. Keith had a great sense of humor, the best laugh, was a good storyteller, was always making goofy faces, had some of the best hugs, and could always make you smile. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him; his soul was taken too soon, but never will be forgotten.

Survivors include his dad, John (Angela) Crape of Austin; mom, Michelle (Mike) Karnes of Austin; significant other, Katie Hemann of Austin; Katie’s daughters, Taylor Overby and Tori Overby; siblings, Jonathan (Andrea Vasquez) Crape of Mankato, Minnesota, Krystal (Blas Estrada) Crape of Rochester, Minnesota, Jessica Crape of Austin, Janisha Crape of Austin, Christian Karnes of Austin, Courtney Karnes of Austin and Collin Karnes of Austin; niece, Sophie Kaercher; nephew, Quin “Bugga” Jefferson; maternal grandma, Linda (Steve) Cichanowski; maternal grandpa, Richard (Cheryl Ackerman) Brohmer; paternal grandpa, John Pharr; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmas, Granny Mattie Webb and Mama Charlene Watts; and maternal great-grandparents, Eugene and Marion Meek.
