The No. 1 Blooming Prairie boys basketball team beat United Christian Academy of Bloomington (16-11 overall) 70-30 in a Section 1A Tournament opener in BP Thursday.

Kaden Thomas had 17 points for BP (22-3 overall).

The Awesome Blossoms will play No. 8 Southland in Mayo Civic Center at 6 p.m. on March 4.
