Dexter woman injured in Saturday accident

A Dexter woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a Saturday afternoon accident.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol accident report, a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban was driving northbound at about 3:16 p.m. on Saturday on Rice Street in Lewiston. It stopped at a stop sign at Highway 14 and continued on when it was struck by a 2007 Chrysler Minivan heading east on Highway 14.
The Winona County Sheriff’s Office and Lewiston Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene.
The driver of the minivan, Melissa Kathryn Deters, 35, of Dexter was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Marys Campus-Rochester with non-life threatening injuries. The Chevy’s driver, Ricky James Speltz, 58, of Altura was uninjured.
The report indicates that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
