The Austin girls hockey team avenged an earlier loss to Worthington (9-10 overall) when it beat the Trojans 3-1 in Riverside Arena Saturday.

Austin was clinging to a 2-0 lead late in the game when Shelby Davidson, who had 27 saves, stopped a pair of breakaway attempts as Austin killed off a power play.

“It was nice to get this win,” Austin head coach Troy Holtz said. “They play many of our teams in our section and comparable scores could determine final seeding. Shelby was huge stopping the two late breakaways.”
