Week heading into the freezer

Well, the cold is finally here.

A small system that will move through the area Sunday into Monday will herald frigid temperatures through Wednesday.

But first the snow. According to the National Weather Service, Sunday night’s system won’t bring much snow, but the area could still see as much as an inch and a half into Monday. Temperatures will begin to dip into the single digits throughout the day Monday and remain there for much of the week, sliding below zero during the overnight hours.

Tuesday night, the NWS is predicting temperatures could go as low as -10.

However, never fear. Temperatures are expected to rise again later in the week, getting back up to the low 20s on Thursday.
