The Austin girls hockey team scored seven first period goals as it blasted the Waseca (0-9 overall) 13-5 in Riverside Arena Tuesday.

Kate Holtz had four goals and five assists for the Packers (3-5 overall) and Jordyn McCormack had four goals and four assists.

Lexi Stich and Kiah Ramsey each scored two goals and A.J. Berrera added a goal and an assist.

Sarah Wangen had 31 saves to score her first varsity win in net.

“The girls played well,” Austin head coach Troy Holtz said. “ Hats off to Sarah Wangen who has never played goalie until tonight and made a number of great saves. She was a very pleasant surprise.”
