Law enforcement is reminding residents to not leave running cars unattended in public places after a vehicle was stolen Tuesday evening.

According to Austin Police Chief David McKichan, a 2007 Chevy Malibu was stolen at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Pizza Hut parking lot. The vehicle was left running and unsecured at the time of the theft. It was recovered at about 1 a.m. on Wednesday in Mapleview. A purse containing several miscellaneous items was missing.

Police have no suspects at this time.
