Austin Noon Kiwanis has selected Pierre Lilly, a senior at Austin High School, as their November Student of the Month.

According to Lilly, “My academic experience at Austin High School has been great, mainly because of all the teacher support and their striving to see you succeed.” He is involved with the AVID program (a mentoring program for college and career readiness), Link Crew and varsity basketball. He has also volunteered with Habitat For Humanity, the United Way, and youth basketball camps. Pierre is known for his willingness to step up when there is a need in the community.

Regarding post-secondary plans and career goals, Lilly plans to attend a four-year university under the major of business and marketing from one of the colleges Lilly has applied to, which are Morehouse College, North Carolina A&T, Morgan State, Clark Atlanta University and Iowa State.

As to a particular person who has had a notable positive impact on him, Lilly states, “It is my AVID teacher, Mrs. Stanley, who pushed me to do better in my classes . She encouraged me to bring my grades up during my sophomore year.”
