Nathan Paul Reimers, 29, of Austin pleaded guilty to felony third-degree drugs – sale of narcotic – as part of a plea agreement on Thursday in Mower County District Court.
A second charge of felony third-degree drugs – sale of narcotic – will be dismissed at the sentencing as part of the agreement.
Court documents state that narcotics detectives met with a confidential reliable informant (CRI) on Feb. 26 about purchasing heroin from Reimers.
The CRI was searched, equipped with an audio transmitter and buy money, and monitored as he went to a location in Austin to meet with Reimers.
Reimers sold the CRI 1.29 grams of what was later determined to be a mixture of heroin and fentanyl, which the CRI surrendered to police.
Law enforcement met with the CRI again on March 13 after he arranged to purchase more heroin from Reimers. The CRI was again searched, equipped with an audio transmitter and buy money, and monitored as he went to a location in Austin to meet with Reimers.
Reimers sold the CRI 0.92 grams of the heroin/fentanyl mixture, which the CRI again surrendered to police.
A review of Reimers’ criminal history shows prior convictions for theft, issuing dishonored checks, and fleeing a peace officer. He recently pled guilty to felony second-degree burglary – unoccupied dwelling.
Reimers will be sentenced on Jan. 23.
