The No. 6 ranked Blooming Prairie girls basketball team suffered its first loss of the season when it fell to Goodhue (8-1 overall) 60-53 in Goodhue Thursday.

The Awesome Blossoms (4-1 overall) closed the first half on a 7-0 run to take a 25-24 lead into the break, but they trailed by as many as 12 in the second half.

“This was a great learning experience for our team,” BP head coach John Bruns said. “Goodhue brings an incredible amount of pressure and we did a very nice job of making adjustments and keeping ourselves in the game. It was a fun atmosphere and in spite of the loss, this is going to pay off for us in the long run.”
