Elmer D. Mullenbach, 90

Elmer D. Mullenbach, 90, of Adams, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, at the Adams Health Care Center.

Elmer was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Osage, Iowa, one of seven children of John and Lena Mullenbach. Elmer grew up in Adams and attended Johnsburg School. On Oct. 14, 1953, he was united in marriage to Donna Jean Graves at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin.

Elmer and Donna raised their family and resided on their farm near Johnsburg, Minnesota. In 1996, they moved off the farm and into Adams. Over the years, Elmer worked at Thill Implement in Rose Creek, Minnesota. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, playing baseball, camping with his friends and family and watching the Minnesota Twins with his wife.

Elmer was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams and former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg. He enjoyed seeing and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids; they could always put a smile on his face. Elmer enjoyed his daughters spending time at the house, and on Black Friday, he told them they were crazy for shopping so early in the morning. He enjoyed playing cards and loved dancing with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his parents; son, Darwin Mullenbach; and his siblings, Darlene Meyer, Evangline Binzer, Vernon Mullenbach and Wayne Mullenbach. Elmer is survived by his children, Cindy Mullenbach of Stewartville, Minnesota, Brad (Gayle) Mullenbach of Austin, Minnesota, Delmar (Nancy) Mullenbach of Owatonna, Minnesota, Nancy (Butch) Eischens of Dodge Center, Minnesota, Scott Mullenbach of Adams, Mary (Glenn) Nichols of Chatfield, Minnesota, Dave Mullenbach of Spring Valley, Minnesota, Beverly (Jim) Salisbury of Stewartville and Janice (Steve) Eischens of Taopi, Minnesota; 21 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; sisters, Cleo Osmundson and Jurine (David) Smith; brother-in-law, Allan Meyer; sister-in-la,: LaVonne (Slim) Landherr; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m., with a 2 p.m. parish Rosary, on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019, at the Adams Funeral Home and will continue from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
