Shirley M. Hartman, 89, of Taopi, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at the Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin.

Shirley Margaret was born Aug. 20, 1930, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of Louis and Irene (Schroeder) Naebeck. She grew up in Ann Arbor, where she graduated from high school.

Shirley was united in marriage to Robert Arthur Hartman on May 28, 1949, at the Scio Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor. In 1968, the Hartman family moved to Taopi, where they operated the family farm and raised their family of four children.

Shirley is survived by her son, Wayne Grant (Shirley) Hartman, Ames, Iowa; daughters, Jeanette Marie Arnold, Salem, Oregon, Karen Mildred Hartman, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Nancy Diane Hartman, Brownsdale, Minnesota; nine grandchildren, Rebecca, Bernadette, Anthony, Lindsey, Brean, Erin, Rachel, Naomi and Nowai; three great-grandchildren (and a fourth on the way); one brother; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, on May 12, 2017, and her siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, at the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeremy Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Taopi.
