Taxpayers can sign up for automatic withdrawal of property taxes for next year by completing the automatic withdrawal form available at the Auditor-Treasurer’s office or on the Mower County website.

Property tax statements were mailed out in March and no reminders are sent out. If you do not recall receiving a tax statement, please call the Auditor-Treasurer’s office at 507-437-9456 to verify your current address is on file.

Per Minnesota state statute, property taxes are due regardless of whether you received a property tax statement or not. Also per Minnesota state statute, a penalty will be added on Oct. 16 if payment is not made timely. Tax payments postmarked on or before Oct. 15 will be accepted as timely paid.

Another reminder for taxpayers who missed the May 15 first half tax payment due date, please make payment as soon as possible to minimize penalties for late payment. An additional penalty will be added Nov. 1, 2019.

Please note that property owners have until Friday, Nov. 15 to pay second half Agricultural real estate taxes and second half Mobile Home property taxes.
