The Austin Police Officer’s Association (APOA) will present its annual Country Western Spectacular featuring country musician Clare Dunn on Saturday at Knowlton Auditorium at Austin High School.

Known for singles such as “Move On” and “Tuxedo”, Dunn has opened for many notable country acts such as Florida Georgia Line, Chris Young, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Hank Williams Jr. and Trace Adkins. She will be the headlining act for what Austin Police Chief David McKichan calls the largest APOA single fundraiser event of the year.

“The Austin Police Officer’s Association is the charitable arm of the Austin police officers,” McKichan said. “It’s not affiliated with the city, but it does allow officers, via paycheck deductions and other fundraising events, to support small endeavors in our community.”

McKichan said that this year, as in past events, will feature “incredible, high-quality talent.”

“In the past, we’ve had some with significant name recognition and we’ve also had that are up and coming,” he said. “Having been to numerous (concerts), I can say that from the opening acts to the main acts themselves, even if you may not be familiar with them, have been incredibly talented.”

The concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Knowlton Auditorium. Tickets are $25 for general admission,

“It’s one of those rare opportunities in Austin to hear and experience live music in a setting like Knowlton, which is a fantastic venue for the type of performance we’re bringing in,” McKichan said. “I encourage those that are around and looking for something to do in Austin this weekend to check out the concert.”
