Frances “Pat” Johnston, 86, of Owatonna, Minnesota, passed away on Sept. 21, 2019, at Owatonna Hospital.

Pat was born in Lansing Township to parents Carl and Bertha (Pfotenhauer) Wilson.

She attended Austin Public Schools until ninth grade obtaining her GED later in life. She married Merle Johston in 1947, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They lived in Austin, Chicago, Illinois and Waseca, before finally settling down in Owatonna.

Pat worked at Federated Insurance for many years, then she worked at Truth Hardware, retiring after 25 plus years.

In retirement she attended craft shows, enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, and camping with her family. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening. She was a member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary volunteering for many of their events.

Pat is survived by children, Brent (Linda) Johnston, Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, Mark Johnston, Blooming Prairie, Sterling Johnston, Owatonna, Bonnie Johnston (Jake), Medford, Minnesota, Boyd (Deb) Johnston, Owatonna; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Brett and siblings, Carl, Mercedes and Nadene.

Friends may greet the family from 10-11 a.m., Saturday Sept. 28, 2019, at the Brick Meger Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m.. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
