Cecilia Anne Cook, 73, of Austin, Minnesota, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019, at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin from frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

Ceci was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on July 25, 1946, to Frank and Mabel Ruekert. After graduating from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minnesota, she was a licensed social worker for Mower County Child Protection Services. On Oct. 5, 1968, she married Richard Cook. Together they raised four children: the Rev. Monsignor Thomas Cook, Joan (Tyler) Farrell, David (Becky) Cook, and Daniel (Erika) Cook. Ceci is also survived by her brother, Fr. Thomas Ruekert, S.D.B.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Frank Jr. and Fred.

Ceci enjoyed working and volunteering at Queen of Angels Parish and School. She also enjoyed singing, traveling, and spoiling her six grandchildren, Holden, Clare, Linus, Kate, Bennett, and Brady.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas Cook officiating. There will be visitation from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the Mass at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
