Paula Faas, 68, of Champlin, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at home surrounded by family and friends. “I would have been screaming ‘ALS sucks,’ had ALS not taken my voice. My family and friends were my life!”

Paula Faas, 68

Family: She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Helen (Stanek) Faas. She is survived by loving wife, Cindy; three beautiful daughters, Katrina, Serena and Correna; treasured sister, Joanne (Nick) Alexakis, Livingston, Texas; brothers, George (April), Irvine, California, Jack (Becky), Austin, Minnesota, Mike (Hisako), Tokyo, Japan, and Clint, Irvine; and many wonderful cousins, nephews and nieces. Friends: The Duluth gang: Margaret, Mary, Gail, Nancy, Linda and Char (deceased). So much fun and so much love. Good family friend, Tomomi (We’ll take a double shot please!). My church family: The Culver’s bunch plus another big list, you know who you are-thank you for being so welcoming and loving. Kay, thanks for helping to fulfill my “moose” bucket list. The Softball gang: Another big list, you know who you are too-ever grateful for all the fun! “Marie, I Remember!” and all the Dayton Elementary staff friends, especially my fellow recess para Pam Baumgartner, I see you : ). Life is good (except for the ALS, oh and asthma too). “Gadawg, Gadawg, Ooogala, Ooogala, he, he, he cheers to you all and the many others I’ve met along the way that made my life worth living!”

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at Champlin United Methodist Church, 921 Downs Road, Champlin, MN 55316. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Friday at the church. Paula loved flowers, but she also loved helping kids. Memorial contributions can be given to CUMC-Better Together, which helps local elementary students with food, snow pants, mittens, supplies, etc., or CUMC-Camp scholarship for Northern Pines, which helps send a family to camp in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
