Darlene Mary (Clemens) Haukom, 69, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019, at her home in Austin.

Darlene Mary (Clemens) Haukom, 69

Darlene was born Oct. 10, 1949, in Rochester, Minnesota, to Lawrence and Pearl (Herrick) Clemens. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1967. On May 31, 1969, she married James Haukom and enjoyed a wonderful 50 years of marriage. Darlene worked for Cedar Valley as a support service manager for over 30 years until retirement in 2014. She belonged to the Queen of Angels Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and Noon Lions, where she became the first woman president. She enjoyed traveling, camping, snowmobiling, and spending time with her grandchildren. Darlene loved sports, was an avid fan of the Twins, Vikings and Wild, and was even known to occasionally provide written advice to our Vikings head coaches. But her greatest joy was family, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and watching the grandkids try to keep up with her.

Survivors include her loving husband, James Haukom of Austin; son, Michael (Cathy) Haukom of Farmington, Minnesota; two daughters, Heather (Dave) Weidner of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and Kelly (Dan) Hanson of Madison Lake, Minnesota; six grandchildren Ben, Lucas, Jack, Boston, Sam and Mia; sister, Ruth Baier; and brother, Rick Clemens. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother.
