Allen Ray Kunze, 82, passed away on the morning of Friday, May 3, 2019, at his home in Utah with loved ones always by his side.

He was born on April 12, 1937, in Austin, Minnesota, to John and Frieda Kunze. He went into the U.S. Air Force in 1956 after he graduated from Austin High School. He married Vera Lee in 1959. To this union two children were born, Michael and Terri. They later divorced. He married Joanne Tindal in 1962. To this union four children were born, Ronald, John, Ann and Kelly.

He worked at Werhauser in Austin. He later worked in Omaha, Nebraska, California and Utah, where he retired. When he retired, Al and Joanne wintered in Arizona. Al loved golfing, boating, Yahtzee, and being with family. He was a quiet and gentle man.

Joanne passed away in 2004 and Allen stayed in Arizona. He later met Eunice Paavard and they were friends for 12 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frieda Kunze; wife, Joanne; son, Michael, who died two months before Allen; nephew, David Domino; brothers-in-law, Irv Jensen and Joe Wehner, and many other brothers-in-law. Survivors include his children, Terri Magnuson, Ronald Kunze, John Kunze, Ann Fearn and Kelly Pingree; 15 grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Jensen and Karen Domino; and sisters-in-law, Mary Jane, Marcella, Betty and Joan.

A celebration of life will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019, at Austin American Legion Post 91.
