Rozella Olsen, 81

Rozella Olsen, 81, of Midlothian, Virginia, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019.
She was born in Westfield, Wisconsin, and raised her family in Elkton, Minnesota, before retiring to Midlothian. She worked as a corporate secretary at Hormel Foods Corporation in Austin, Minnesota, for 35 years and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She
loved cats and enjoyed cross-stitching, knitting, crocheting, watching golf, socializing with friends and having a nice glass of white wine. She was passionate about the work of The ALS Association through caring for her daughter, Melanie, who battled the disease for many years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Kietzmann; mother, Mary Ely Kietzmann-Young; stepfather, Frederick A. Young; and daughter, Melanie Olsen. She is survived by her husband, Clarence Olsen; sister, Bonita Greene; son, Kent Olsen and his wife, Michelle; daughter, Wendy Hermes and her husband, Daniel; and grandchildren, Jessica Hermes, Tyler Hermes, Chad Olsen, Amanda Olsen and Jillian Hermes.
The family will hold a memorial service from 2-5 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019, at The Crossings of Bon Air Chapel, 9100 Bon Air Crossings Drive, Richmond, VA 23235. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be sent to The ALS Association, “In Memory of Melanie and Rozella Olsen,” at 8100 Three Chopt Rd, Richmond, VA 23229.
