The Austin Police Department is now accepting applications for its annual Citizen Academy.

The Citizen Academy allows civilians the opportunity to learn the daily operations of the police department.

This year’s Citizen Academy will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. on Sept. 10, 17 and 24 and Oct. 1, 8 and 15.

Applicants must be an Austin resident or business owner ages 21 and up. Applications are available at the Mower County Law Enforcement Center or online at www.ci.austin.mn.us. Register early as class size is limited.

The APD asks that applicants be able to attend most or all of the sessions.
