The Hayfield baseball team moved to within one win of its first state tournament in school history when it topped Spring Grove (15-6 overall) 3-0 in the Section 1A semifinals in Seltz Field Saturday.

Easton Fritcher struck out eight in five and two-thirds inning to snag the win for Hayfield and Mason Tapp had a third inning sacrifice fly that put the Vikings up for good.
