Noah Dean Skattebo, 41, of Adams was sentenced to 25 years of probation for felony second-degree drugs-sale of 10 grams or more of a narcotic other than heroin within a 90-day period on Thursday in Mower County District Court.
The charge was reduced from felony first-degree drugs-sale of 17 grams or more of cocaine within a 90-day period as part of a plea agreement reached on Jan. 4.
A charge of felony sale of a simulated narcotic levied was dismissed as part of the agreement.
Judge Christa M. Daily issued the sentence.
Court documents state police met with a confidential reliable informant (CRI) on March 9, 2018, about purchasing cocaine from Skattebo. The CRI was searched and he was given a recording device and buy money. Police then monitored him as he entered Skattebo’s residence in the 900 block of 11th Avenue Southwest in Austin and purchased cocaine. The CRI then met with police in a designated area and surrendered 6.27 grams of cocaine. The CRI also said Skattebo bragged that he had “the best coke in town.”
The CRI met with police again on March 12, 2018, and arranged another cocaine purchase from Skattebo. The CRI was again searched, given buy money and a recording device, and was again monitored as he went to the residence and spoke with Skattebo’s wife, Danyel Skattebo. The CRI met with police again and surrendered 13.7 grams of cocaine, saying Danyel sold him the drugs because Skattebo was asleep.
The CRI also arranged purchases for March 14 and 15, 2018. The same process was repeated and the CRI surrendered an additional 6.74 grams of cocaine and 13.46 grams of cocaine respectively.
A review of Skattebo’s criminal record shows prior convictions for criminal sexual conduct, issuing dishonored checks and assault. Danyel Skattebo was recently sentenced to 20 years of probation for felony third-degree drugs-possess 10 grams or more of a narcotic drug other than heroin from the same case.
In addition to probation, Skattebo must also follow 19 conditions, perform 40 hours of community service and pay $1,085 in fees and fines. Failure to follow the conditions could result in 58 months in prison.
