Edward Donald Watt, 78

Edward Donald Watt, 78, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2019, in Hemet, California.

He was born on Nov. 30, 1940, and raised in Austin, Minnesota. Ed left his hometown of Austin at the age of 17 to join the U.S. Navy and started boot camp in San Diego, California. He proudly served his country for three years.

After a previous marriage, Ed met Susan while they both worked at Nissan Motor Corporation in Carson, California. They were blessed with 36 years of marriage.

Ed was a very determined and ambitious person. He received his Bachelors Degree at Cal State Fullerton while working full-time and caring for his three daughters. In 1992, Ed started his own very successful transportation business. He enjoyed golfing and deep-sea fishing with his buddies on his boat and was a member of The King Harbor Marlin Club in Redondo Beach, California. He also enjoyed fine dining and many cruises with his wife. Susan described him as a loving, caring, kind soul. Ed will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ed is survived by his wife, Susan; three daughters, Molly Watt-Stokes, Alison Zelizer Watt and Christine (Jeff) Hill; six grandchildren, Claire (Tyler) Stewart, Erin Stokes, Adam Hill, Kevin Hill, Audrey Hill and Rachel Zelizer; his sisters, Joanne Clark, Bonnie Peterson, Marilyn Watt and Donna Rohrbacher; his sister-in-law, Shirley Watt; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Watt and Mildred Watt James; and his brother, Richard Watt.

A private celebration of life was held.
