Donis LaVonne Hukee, 91, formerly of Adams, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at St. Therese of Woodbury from complications from Progressive Supra-nuclear Palsy.

Donis was born Dec. 17, 1927, in Adams. She was the oldest of six children. She married her husband, Bernie, and they were blessed with almost 69 years together. Donis and Bernie loved to travel. They took their children to several memorable destinations on family trips, including Montreal for the 1967 World’s Fair, Disneyland, Banff National Park, and the east coast. After Bernie retired, Donis and Bernie took cruises to Alaska, Norway and South America and trips to Australia, England, New Zealand and Hawaii. They also traveled extensively to see their children and grandchildren perform and compete in different activities.

Donis was a gifted singer. Her vocal talent allowed her to perform at different venues and events as a featured soloist.  Her favorite songs to perform were “How Great Thou Art” and “The Lord’s Prayer. “

She was a loving mother who volunteered in her kids’ elementary classes. She also loved to cook and bake. She took great pride in making homemade cakes and cookies for her children and grandchildren. She loved to serve her family and her church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Margie (Christenson) Osmundson; and her brothers, Harold and his wife Gladys, Lloyd, David and Gerald Osmundson.   

Donis is survived by her husband, Bernard Hukee Jr.; her children, John Hukee and wife Debbie, Bruce Hukee and wife Julie, and Margie Hoyle; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Diane and her husband Bobby Smith; and sisters-in-law, Cleo Osmundson, Ardy Osmundson and Donna Osmundson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Jeremy Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30-11a.m. prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Little Cedar Cemetery in Adams.
