Y’s Women’s Club
Y’s women met May 9, at the Hormel Historic Home for a salad pot luck. It was the last meeting of the season.
Anita Ulwelling called the meeting to order. Plans for the monthly programs for next year were made. The secretary and treasurer reports were given by Donna Maas and Anita Ulwelling and were approved as read.
Karen Schaub was welcomed as a new member. Joyce Anderson, Marlys Dunlop and Nancy Towne will again fill the flowers boxes at the HHH.
Louise Anderson and Char Plantikow were hostesses.
Meetings will resume in September and callers will call with information.
Duplicate Bridge
On May 7, six tables played duplicate bridge.
First place, Gail and Ray Schmidt; second place, Edna Knobbe and Kathy Leisen; third place, Vandy Newman and Jim Fisher; fourth place, Joyce Crowe and Millie Siever; fifth place, John Leisen and Rick Stroup.
May 8, 11 teams played.
First place, Dave Ring and Orrin Roisen; second place, Larry Crowe and Jim Fisher; third place, Vandy Newman and Ron Peters; fourth place, Gail and Ray Schmidt; fifth place, Tom Flaherty and Stan Schultz.
Players came from Adams, Albert Lea, Austin and Rose Creek, Northwood and Mason City, Iowa. Both sessions always played at the Mower County Senior Center in Austin. Call Joyce at 1-507-437-2750 if you need a partner
