LaRayne M. Jochumsen, 79, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, May 27, 2019, at her home.

LaRayne was born on Feb. 19, 1940, in rural Lyle, Minnesota, the daughter of Otto and Hazel (Means) Lomholt. She grew up in Lyle and graduated from Lyle High School in 1958. On June 29, 1958, LaRayne married Robert Jochumsen in Austin. LaRayne then went on to attend the Austin Vo-Tech, receiving her medical assistant degree. She worked as a nurse’s aide for over 32 years at Good Samaritan Society – Comforcare, St. Mark’s Living, and Burr Oak Manor.

LaRayne was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin. She enjoyed traveling to see her family and loved crocheting, knitting, baking and needlepoint. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Jochumsen of Austin; children, Kevin Jochumsen of Austin, Kellee Jochumsen of Austin, KaLyn Ellis of Seattle, Washington, Kendahl Jochumsen of Rochester, Minnesota, Karyn Nelson of Austin and Kerry (Kathryn) Jochumsen of Austin; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, LaFerne Mangan of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Hazel Lomholt; brother, Louis “Bud” Lomholt; sisters, LaVonne Griese, LaDonna Bohn, LaRena Bartholomew and twin sister, LaRaye Anderson; and daughter-in-law, Alberta Jochumsen.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home chapel.
