Confidence grows for high snowfall; area placed in winter storm warning

It just keeps getting better.
According to the National Weather Service, this weekend’s storm looks to have taken an uptick in expected snow amounts and accordingly has placed the area under a winter storm warning.
The NWS is now predicting snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches possible with strong winds gusting has high as 30-40 miles per hour.

The watch goes into effect at 7 a.m. Saturday morning, and will stretch through the day to 7 p.m. Saturday night.
While the storm isn’t expected to last past Saturday, the amount of snow it expects to dump could be close to 1 to 2 inches per hour with slush accumulations on roads making travel difficult.
This storm also brings a bit of uncertainty. Confidence is high as to the timing of the storm, but what is less known is the exact location of the heaviest snowfall totals. People are urged to check weather forecasts for the most up-to-date information.
