Cheryl Anderson, 72, of Apple Valley, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Augustana Care Center in Apple Valley.

Cheryl Rae Kohlwes was born Nov. 24, 1946, in Austin, Minnesota, to Ewald and Marcella Kohlwes. She attended Austin High School. On Oct. 19, 1968, she was united in marriage to Donald Anderson at Red Oak Grove Lutheran Church in rural Austin. They raised one son. Cheryl held several jobs throughout her life, including cashier at Austin Auto Truck Plaza, sales at ABC Bingo, and security agent at Securitas. Cheryl loved to quilt, making over 400 of them for friends and family over the years. She loved watching the Wild, Twins, and Timberwolves, but her favorite things in the world were her grandkids. Cheryl was gregarious and warm and made friends quickly. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Sara Anderson; their children, Sophia, Maxwell and Lilian; her sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Roger Jacobs; and nephews and niece, Brian Jacobs, Michael Jacobs, and Valerie Jacobs, and their families. She was preceded in death by her father, Rudy Kolpin; stepfather, Howard Hjelmen; mother, Marcella Hjelmen; and husband, Donnie.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Easter Lutheran Church-Hill Campus (www.easter.org) in Eagan, Minnesota.
