Austin Bruins defenseman Terry Ryder recently  committed to play Division III hockey at Adrian College.

Ryder, 20, played one season with the Austin Bruins where he helped anchor the blue-line as a veteran defenseman. He finished the season with five points and ranked third in games played for Bruins’ defensemen with 53. Prior to competing in Austin, the Michigan native played a season in the Western States Hockey League with the Idaho IceCats.

Austin head coach Steve Howard said that Ryder gave the Bruins a boost.

“Terry was a great addition to our blue line this year. We only had him for one season but he played like he was a seasoned veteran,” Ryder said. “He’s an extremely hard worker and is dedicated to getting better every day. Adrian is getting a very coachable player and a great person.”

Ryder follows in the footsteps of several former Bruins including Cory Dunn, Grant Baetsen, Matt Eller, Brian Bachnack, and Trevor Boyd, all of whom committed to and played for the Adrian Bulldogs.
