Open house set for March 26 in Hollandale to learn about Highway 251 project

The public is invited to attend an open house on Tuesday, March 26, in Hollandale to learn more about the Highway 251 paving project set for 2020, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Representatives of MnDOT will be available to answer questions and provide information from 4-7 p.m.at the Hollandale Village Hall, 102 Park Ave E. People may drop by at any time during the session to learn more about the project, offer feedback and ask questions. Maps and information will be available. There will be no formal presentation.

The project will resurface approximately 16.7 miles of Highway 251 from Interstate 35 east to HIghway 218, mostly in Freeborn County, with a small portion of Mower County included.

Approach panels will be replaced on the bridge over I-35. Additionally, culvert/pipes will be replaced along the route and turn lanes will be installed at Freeborn County Road 26. Once complete, this project will improve safety and extend the service life of the highway, bridges and drainage systems.
