Douglas Wayne Anderson, 80, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System-Austin, surrounded by his loving family.

Douglas was born on March 23, 1938, in Austin to Alvin and Mabel (Bell) Anderson. He grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School in 1956. Douglas served his country by joining the U.S. Marine Corps. On Sept. 25, 1987, Douglas married Elsie Gonzales in Fresno, California. Douglas lived in California for many years and moved back to Austin in 1996. He worked at various jobs throughout his life. Douglas enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, and singing karaoke. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his children, Erik (Vivian) Hall of Clovis, California, Paul Romero of San Francisco, California, Joe Maldonado of Texas, Tina Maldonado of Clovis, Michelle Maldonado of Fresno, Antoinette Maldonado of California, Felicia Maldonado of Fresno, Elsie Cambana of Texas, Joann Maldonado of Guam, Alfred (Michael) Carter of Albert Lea, Minnesota, Erika Anderson of Fresno, Douglas (Jessica Hutchinson) Anderson II of Austin, and Faith Anderson of Rochester, Minnesota; grandchildren, Josh, Savannah, Christopher, Anthony, Elijah, Melissa, Mia, Manuel, Matthew, Marissa, Damien, Gabriel, Joseph, Llilyana, Amaris, Annabel, Mia and Beckham; brother, Dan (Myrna) Hall of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mabel Anderson; wife, Elsie Gonzales; one brother, Glen; and one sister, Dehona.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
