Two individuals pleaded guilty to meth sales on Friday in Mower County District Court.

Chanh Daeng Inboua

Chanh Daeng Inboua, 41, of Austin pleaded guilty to felony first-degree drugs-sale of 17 grams or more of methamphetamine within a 90-day period as part of a plea agreement. He initially pleaded not guilty on Nov. 8.

Narcotics detectives met with a confidential reliable informant (CRI) on Nov. 7, 2017, about purchasing methamphetamine from Inboua, according to court documents. The CRI and his vehicle were searched and he was given buy money and an audio transmitter. He was then monitored as he met Inboua in Austin. They had a conversation about drugs, then Inboua sold him 4.635 grams of methamphetamine, which the CRI surrendered to the police.

Later in the day, the detectives spoke with the CRI again about purchasing more methamphetamine from Inboua. The CRI said Inboua could sell him half an ounce of methamphetamine and arranged to make a purchase. The CRI and his vehicle were searched again and he was provided with more buy money and an audio transmitter. The CRI was then monitored as he met with Inboua again, though Inboua said he did not have the full half-ounce. Inboua sold him 10.271 grams of methamphetamine, which was surrendered to the police.

The detectives met with the CRI again on Nov. 17 about purchasing more methamphetamine from Inboua. The same procedures were carried out and the CRI surrendered 3.534 grams of methamphetamine after purchasing it from Inboua.

A review of Inboua’s criminal history shows a prior conviction for drug possession.

Inboua will be sentenced on April 18.

Patricia Jane Boonreuang

Patricia Jane Boonreuang, 24, of Austin pleaded guilty to felony second-degree drugs-sale of 10 grams of a narcotic other than heroin within a 90-day period as part of a plea agreement. She initially pleaded not guilty on Oct. 4.

The charge was reduced from felony first-degree drugs-sale of 17 grams or more of methamphetamine as part of the agreement.

Court documents state police met with a confidential reliable informant (CRI) on Dec. 21, 2017, about purchasing one ounce of methamphetamine from Boonreuang. The CRI was searched and provided with an audio transmitter and buy money. The police then monitored the CRI’s vehicle as it went to the 300 block of 11th Street Northeast. Police then observed a 1998 Ford Taurus park near the CRI, and the CRI entered the Ford Taurus’s back seat, where he purchased methamphetamine.

The CRI then met with police at a predetermined location and surrendered 28.177 grams, just shy of one ounce, of methamphetamine. The CRI also said Boonreuang was accompanied by a male. The CRI said he gave the money to Boonreuang and the man with Boonreuang handed him the methamphetamine.

A review of Boonreuang’s criminal history shows prior convictions for felony drug possession. She is currently on probation.

Boonreuang will be sentenced at a later date.
