The Hayfield boys basketball team beat Faribault Bethlehem Academy (9-11 overall, 4-7 Gopher) 53-52 on the road Friday.

FBA missed a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer after the Vikings had missed a pair of free throws, which both came on the front ends of one and ones, in the last minute.

Mason Tapp and Luke Dudycha each scored 16 points for the Vikings (19-4 overall, 12-1 Gopher), who remain tied in first place in the Gopher Conference with Waterville-Elysian-Morristown.

The Vikings trailed by eight early in the second half, but they bounced back to take a lead.
