The Hayfield boys basketball team beat United South Central (10-8 overall, 5-5 Gopher) 71-45 on the road Friday.

Mason Tapp had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Hayfield (17-4 overall, 11-1 Gopher).

Hayfield led 23-8 to start the game, but USC cut that lead to 36-26 right before the half.
