Search warrant leads to two arrests

Two individuals were arrested after police executed a search warrant Wednesday morning.

According to Austin Police Chief Brian Krueger, police executed a search warrant at 10:24 a.m. on Wednesday at a residence in the 1000 block of Second Avenue Southwest. Police were looking for Robert Edward Collins, 43, who was wanted on probation violation warrants for prior convictions of felony predatory offender fail to register and felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. Collins was found at the residence and arrested.

Jessel

As officers entered the residence, an officer outside the house spotted Amber Marie Jessel, 23, of Austin attempting to escape from a basement window. Jessel had a warrant for failing to appear at a hearing on a charge of gross misdemeanor financial transaction card fraud and was also arrested. Police found a glass pipe with white residue on her person.

Krueger indicated Collins might be facing a possible charge of felony second-degree sales of heroin from another incident. Jessel could also be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
