Lyle-Pacelli confirms it will have football next autumn

The numbers are in and football will stay in Lyle-Pacelli.
After the Athletics forfeited a playoff game due to lack of numbers in October the program held a meeting to see if it could continue or would have to split up.
Since then the team has picked up some new players and the Athletics are aiming to have both a varsity and a JV squad next fall.
“We have a little bit more numbers than we probably expected,” LP head coach Dan King said.
The Athletics are expected to have 14 players who are sophomores or older, which gives them enough to field a full nine-man football squad.
King is hoping to get a summer program in place to prepare LP for the upcoming season.
“We’re in a small school,” King said. “We need to get more people up to speed.”
