Linda Lou Vasey, 68, formerly of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at the New Richland Care Center in New Richland, Minnesota.

She was born on March 15, 1950, to Charles and Gertrude (Jorgenson) Nicholson in Stillwater, Minnesota. She was one of 14 children. Linda grew up in the St. Paul and Austin, Minnesota, areas. She graduated from Humboldt High School in St. Paul in 1969. Linda married Marvin Vasey on Nov. 23, 1974, in Owatonna, Minnesota. They divorced in 1994. She volunteered within her community and worked at the family gas station. She attended Austin Community College for human services. Linda was a kind, compassionate person who enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren. She spent much of her spare time painting, making crafts, and creating floral arrangements. Linda also loved her cats, Ashes and Jazzy.   

Survivors include her children, Charles (Nancy) Nicholson of Rochester, Minnesota, Theodore Nicholson of Owatonna, Anna Nicholson of Owatonna, Amy (Gabriel Homeier) Vasey of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and April (Andrew) Schuur of Blooming Prairie; seven grandchildren, Christine, Charles, Amanda, David, Jesse, Andrew and Grant; five great-grandchildren, Heaven, Dakota, Benjamin, Malaysia and Mercy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; several siblings; special friend, James Poore; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at the Elevation North Church, 2002 Austin Rd., Owatonna, MN 55060. Memorials may be made to a local humane society in honor of Linda.
