Jan Madsen, 59, of Grimes, Iowa, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jan was born Sept. 4, 1959, in Austin to Delmer and Mary Anderson. She was united in married to Rich Madsen on May 14, 2011. Jan worked as a budget analyst for Northern Natural Gas in Johnston, Iowa, for 26 years.

She is survived by her husband, Rich; and father, Delmer Anderson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Deacon Rich Aho officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Austin. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
