Betty Grace Anderson, 84

Betty Grace Anderson (née Lund), 84, passed away from complications of Alzheimer’s disease on Monday, Jan. 22, 2019, at the Gulf Shores Care Center in Pinellas Park, Florida.

Betty was born to Hans and Grace Lund on May 20, 1934, on the Rocky B Ranch, Steele County, Minnesota. She grew up as one of seven siblings and attended Blooming Prairie High School. In 1954, she married Merlyn J. Anderson of Ellendale, Minnesota, and together they had three children.

Betty was a homemaker and later a successful real estate agent. Betty and Merlyn were transferred several times over the years with J.C. Penney throughout the Midwest, and she enjoyed renovating and decorating their many homes. She was an accomplished seamstress and creative fabric artist. After her husband’s death in 1980, Betty relocated to Florida and continued her passion for creating whimsical fabric art and decorating.

Betty remarried later in life and is survived by her husband, Albert Beitner. She is also survived by her daughters, Cindy and Jackie Anderson; son-in-law, Caine Carruthers; her son, Gary Jon Anderson; two granddaughters, Betty Pepper and Ginger Grace; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Grace; her sisters, Muriel, Dorothy and Virginia; and her brothers, Arnold, Lee and Melvin.

A memorial for Betty and internment are being planned for early spring at Clarks Grove Baptist Cemetery.
