Stephen N. Perl, 70

Stephen N. Perl, 70, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at his home.

Steve was born June 30, 1948, in Austin to Norman and Mildred (Peterson) Perl. He attended Queen of Angels School and graduated from Pacelli High School. Steve then attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, for two years and then moved to Mankato, Minnesota, and attended Mankato State University. Steve became a partner in The Lost Chord/Bedpost retail stores in Mankato from 1971 until 1986. He sold his share to his partners and went to Mankato Ford, where he worked as a salesman for two years. In 1988, he started work at Vanden Bergh Foods in Madelia, Minnesota, until he injured his back and became disabled. Steve had many friends. He enjoyed music, reading, photography, fishing, most sports, and his dogs. Steve also enjoyed helping his friends when he was able to do so. Steve sold his home in Mankato and moved back to Austin in 2015.

Survivors include his siblings, Carol Krause, Normal, Illinois, David Perl, Austin, Mary Jane Johnson, Austin, and Michael (Ann) Perl, Manhattan, Kansas; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Mildred Perl; brother, Jon Perl; grandparents; several aunts and uncles.
