Riverland Community College hires three new coaches

Riverland Community College recently announced the hiring of new coaches for their volleyball and women’s basketball programs, which are looking to back on track after not having teams this year. 

The Blue Devil volleyball program will be led by new head coach Ashley Lau and assistant coach Jamie Meyer. Andrew Kaiser will take over as the new women’s head basketball coach.

Lau’s coaching experience includes service as an assistant volleyball coach at RCC in both the 2011 and 2012 seasons.  Lay, who played for the Blue Devils in 2008 and 2009, also served as the assistant varsity coach and head JV mentor at West Potomac High School in Alexandria, Virginia between 2015-2017.

Meyer is an Austin grad who coached the varsity and JV programs in Albert Lea from 2007-2011. She is also a former RCC volleyball player.

Kaiser, an Austin grad, competed for RCC in men’s basketball between 2011-2014. Kaiser’s coaching career began in 2016-2017 as an assistant with the Blue Devil men’s basketball program where he was instrumental in helping guide the Riverland squad to a combined 41-17 record during his time on the bench.
