Helen M. Pike, 69

Helen M. Pike, 69, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at her home with her loving family by her side.
Helen Marie Pike was born May 2, 1949, in Osage, Iowa, to Lawrence and Elaine (Wilde) Pike. She grew up in St. Ansgar, Iowa, and graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1967. Throughout the years, Helen worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, as a surgical tech and at the Hormel Institute in cancer research for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge Women’s Auxiliary. Anyone who was close to Helen knew she loved Bingo and watching tennis. She also enjoyed winter trips to Arizona. Helen’s true passion was caring for her family and friends and making certain everyone around her was happy. Her strong, beautiful spirit was with her until the end.
Survivors include her son, Jonathan Pike (Beth Grell) of Austin; sister, Linda Unverzagt of Austin; brother, Wayne (Rhonda) Pike of Sparta, Wisconsin; and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Elaine Pike.
A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at the Eagle’s Club in Austin. All of Helen’s family and friends are welcome to attend.
