The Hayfield boys basketball team picked up its defensive intensity as it beat Blooming Prairie 62-44 in BP Friday.
Mason Tapp paced the Vikings (7-1 overall, 3-0 Gopher) with 18 points and Gabe Hagen led BP with 26 points.
BP (6-1 overall, 3-1 Gopher) was playing without injured starter Kaden Thomas and Zach Archer also left the game with an injury.
“We really struggled at both ends tonight, but that was primarily because of Hayfield’s great effort and energy,” BP head coach Nate Piller said. “They were outstanding. They played with such good energy, often having three guys near the ball to our one.”
