The Lyle-Pacelli girls basketball team extended its SEC win streak to 96 games as it beat Randolph (2-1 overall) 52-49 in overtime on the road Monday.

The Rockets had a chance to take the lead late in regulation, but they missed a free throw right before overtime.

“It was really a back and forth game. They have some really good shooters and we had a hard time stopping them,” LP head coach Anna Meyer said. “We had a really balanced night and everybody played solid minutes.”

LP junior Olivia Christianson tacked on 17 points for LP  after she had surpassed 1,000 points on her career last week.

“That’s a huge accolade, not only for Olivia, but the program as a whole,” Meyer said. “It’s a tribute to the entire team and how much you do together.”

The Athletics (3-2 overall, 2-0 SEC) also beat Glenville-Emmons-Alden-Conger 58-45 on Friday. Christianson scored 34 points in that win, putting her over the 1,000 point mark for her career.
