The Blooming Prairie girls basketball team wasn’t able to finish off a comeback as it lost to Triton (5-4 overall) 56-49 Thursday.

The Awesome Blossoms trailed by eight points at halftime, but they were able to burst back and take a 41-38 lead with six minutes to go. The Cobras hit three straight threes to take the lead back and BP (5-2 overall) wasn’t able to get back in it.

“We played very well throughout and battled the entire game even though we were shorthanded and missing Allison Krohnberg,” BP head coach John Bruns said. “ Maggie Bruns was also just back from illness after missing Tuesday’s game and practice yesterday.  In spite of this, we managed to give ourselves a chance to win and we learned a lot about our team tonight.“
